Youth has been regarded to be the nicest period of human lives. Youth constitute a major force in the contemporary world. In addition to their intellectual contribution and ability to mobilize support, young people have a unique perspective. When appreciated and positively engaged, youth can initiate actions that result in unprecedented social growth and development. We recognise that youth are an important and indispensable part of our communities that must be actively involved in processes and initiatives for social change and development. Religion, on the other hand, has the capacity of facilitating the attainment of appropriate standards of excellence, motivating and equipping a compassionate response and influencing citizens to become effective and powerful voices for change, peace and social justice. Through the October 2010 International Conference on Youth and Interfaith Communication, we intend to share the urgency of interfaith cooperation with young people, key stakeholders and work with them to create and promote action plans for global transformation.
